A Season Once Full of Hope, Will Mercifully End on Saturday

When the University of Colorado heads into Salt Lake City on Saturday to take on the #22 ranked Utah Utes, they will do so with more questions than answers.

Will Coach Prime stay past this season? Is Shedeur Sanders going to play? How many players is Colorado football going to have in the transfer portal after this game?

A season that started on such a high note, coming out of the gates with a 3-0 record has turned into uncertainty as the team has lost 5 straight games and 6 of their last 7.

On the other hand, you have a young Utah team that is riding the news from earlier this week that Quarterback, Cam Rising will be returning to the team next year.

The Utes have a lot to build on from this game as they are looking to establish themselves as one of the top teams in the country entering next season.

An important game for both teams in their own right, let’s take a look at 3 bold predictions for the game.

1. Shedeur Sanders Will Start, But Won’t Finish the Game

It’s no secret that the Buffaloes wouldn’t have been nearly as competitive as they were this year if it wasn’t for the QB play of Shedeur Sanders.

The Junior Quarterback has put up good numbers this season, passing for over 3,200 yards, 27 touchdowns, and only 3 interceptions, while completing passes at a nearly 70% clip.

Enter Washington State.

Sanders exited last week’s blowout loss against Washington State with a variety of injuries. Coach Prime has been noncommittal on whether or not his son and star QB will play.

With Sanders already proclaiming to return to school next year, I can see Sanders starting this game, and if things start going south, which they likely will, Coach Prime will shut him down for the rest of the year.
