After a 4-8 record and 2-7 in conference play, Houston football decided to fire Dana Holgorsen after five seasons as the Cougars head coach. Houston was hoping to have a good start entering the Big 12, but that did not happen as they only beat West Virginia and Baylor.

Houston has a very intriguing roster. With that being said, they may generally not lose many players, but this is just for fun anyway. Here are the most interesting players that Houston has in my eyes:

1. Parker Jenkins

Jenkins is a freshman running back out of Houston, Texas. He had 99 carries for 464 yards and three touchdowns. He led the Cougars in rushing yards. He was by far the best running back on this team. Him being from Houston is a reason why he could stay, but if he did, He would be one of the many players to be a hot commodity.

2. Samuel Brown

Brown is a sophomore wide receiver out of Savannah, Georgia. He had 62 receptions for 815 yards and three touchdowns this season. He led the Cougars in receptions and receiving yards. Him only being a sophomore can mean many things. Brown had multiple 100-yard games, including against UTSA, Rice, and Texas Tech.

3. Isaiah Hamilton

Hamilton is a junior out of Houston, Texas. He had 50 total tackles, four pass deflections, and four interceptions this season for the Cougars. He transferred in from Texas Southern last off-season. I believe he can be very good for Houston or a school he could transfer to next season. Not many players can get four interceptions in a season. Only 15 players in the entire country have more than four interceptions.

4. Mikal Harrison-Pilot

Harrison-Pilot is a freshman wide receiver out of Temple, Texas. He did not play this season for the Cougars. He has no recorded stats outside of a few punt returns. The former four-star recruit in the class of 2023 initially chose the Cougars over schools like California, TCU, Texas, and Oklahoma.

5. Nelson Ceaser

Ceaser is a junior defensive lineman out of Missouri City, Texas. Ceaser had 43 tackles and 9.5 sacks this season for the Cougars. If you do not think 9.5 sacks is impressive, only 11 players in the country had 10 or more sacks the whole season. Ceaser is a very good player; if he did not go to the draft, he could enter the portal and be a great player for a top school.
