Big 12 Football Power Rankings After Week 13
By Erika Brown
9. UCF (6-6, 3-6 conference)
UCF had a lot to fight for on Saturday. They needed one more win to become bowl-eligible. After easily handling Oklahoma State at home two weeks ago, they fell to Texas Tech last week. This week they needed to get it right. But Houston didn’t go quietly. It was a back-and-forth game until after halftime when UCF scored 14 unanswered points. UCF is officially bowl-eligible and awaits its fate as the last Big 12 football team going bowling.
8. Texas Tech (6-6, 5-4 conference)
Texas Tech has had a strange season. They were projected to be the dark horse in the conference, but the team never truly meshed. They did make it to six wins on the year, which makes them bowl-eligible. The Red Raiders did not play their best against Texas, but hopefully, they can make a resurgence during their bowl game in December.
7. Kansas (8-4, 5-4 conference)
Kansas Jayhawks easily won this game and ended the regular season with 8 total wins. Quarterback Jason Bean threw for 250 yards and two touchdowns, and ran in another two. He carried the team on his back and rolled over the Bearcats in their first matchup in Cincinnati. Kansas has an upcoming bowl game to get ready for, and a lot of hope for their 2024 season.
