Big 12 Football Power Rankings After Week 13
By Erika Brown
3. Oklahoma (10-2, 7-2 conference)
The Oklahoma Sooners had a great final season for Big 12 football. Dillion Gabriel is still someone who is in Heisman contention and threw for 400 yards, 3 touchdowns, and an interception. The Sooners handled a late rallying TCU team and all they needed was their in-state rival Oklahoma State to lose their game to waltz into the Big 12 football Championship game for a rematch with Texas. Alas, Oklahoma will finish the regular season with a 10-2 record and will head to a bowl game in December.
2. Oklahoma State (9-3, 7-2 conference)
Such an odd season for the Cowboys, yet they continued fighting. They faced BYU in the final game that went into 2OT. Ollie Gordon II showed the world why he should be a Heisman contender. He ran for 166 yards and 5 touchdowns and carried the team on his back. He scored the final touchdown for the Cowboys and sealed the Cougars fate. Oklahoma State now heads to Arlington to face Texas for the Big 12 football championship.
1. Texas (11-1, 8-1 conference)
Texas handled business all the way to the Big 12 football championship. They faced one of their in-state rivals, Texas Tech, in a game that was over before the 4th quarter. Quinn Ewers looks healthy and capable. And Texas sat their starters in the 4th quarter, probably to prepare them for the upcoming championship game. Texas had a great regular season for their last one in the Big 12. The next time we see them in the regular season, they will be a part of the SEC.
