The C-USA title game features two of the hottest teams in the world of college football. Liberty football comes in with an unblemished record and look to build upon a historic season, their first as members of Conference USA.

The visiting NMSU Aggies are winners of eight straight games, including a 31-10 victory on the road against the Auburn Tigers on Nov. 18. The same Auburn was an Alabama fourth-and-goal conversion from the 31-yard line away from upsetting the Crimson Tide last Saturday. New Mexico State is legit. Their ability to bounce back from a 1-3 start and reach the conference championship shows the resiliency of the players and coaches on this squad.

New Mexico State’s lone loss in conference play came on the road against Liberty on Sept. 9. The final score was 33-17 in favor of the Flames. That game in Lynchburg is the last time the Aggies have lost in the continental United States. They fell on the road against Hawaii on Sept. 23 after Hawaii’s Matthew Shipley made a 24-yard field goal as time expired.

Both Liberty’s offensive and defensive units have ranked amongst the best in the nation in a few categories. On the season, Liberty leads the country in rushing yards per game with an average of 295 yards. Liberty’s defense leads the nation in interceptions with 20 on the season.

The stage is set. Liberty and New Mexico State will play for the Conference USA title. Will Liberty’s quest for perfection continue? Or will New Mexico State be able to avenge their early-season loss to the Flames?

Here are three bold predictions for the Conference USA championship game happing on Dec. 1 in Lynchburg.
