2. Defense was dominant

The Florida State football offense may have played a lethargic game on Saturday, but the defense showed up massively. The Louisville box score was ugly.

Jack Plummer completed just 14 of his 36 passes, picking up just 111 yards and throwing an interception.

On the ground, the Cardinals picked up just 77 yards on 34 attempts. That’s a clip of just 2.3 yards per carry.

On third down, Louisville was just 3 of 18. They also tried to convert three-fourth downs and were stopped by the Seminoles every time.

Jordan Travis dominated the headlines all year for this team, but the resume is chock full of great defensive performances. The last two weeks have been special, giving up a combined 21 points in the two full games since their quarterback went down.

Go back to the opening weekend of the season. The Seminoles held Jayden Daniels and LSU to just 24 points. They also held Tyler Van Dyke and Miami to just 20 points.

This is a special defense, and they put a stamp on a special regular season on Saturday night.
