On Saturday, Alabama football (12-1, 9-0 SEC) and the Georgia Bulldogs (12-1, 8-1) faced off in the SEC Championship game for the first time since the 2021 title game, which the Crimson Tide also won.

Nick Saban and Jalen Miroe led the way to a 27-24 Bama win, and while the Tide have a loss (vs. Texas in Week 2), it’s time to admit what we are all thinking: Alabama deserves a spot in the College Football Playoff.

Alabama football should sneak into the playoff but there are a few deserving teams at the top

Right now, there are too many question marks to definitively say who will be in the College Football Playoff tomorrow morning, though the picture currently has Michigan football (13-0, 10-0 Big Ten) and Washington (13-0, 10-0 PAC-12) among the teams that are certain to get a bid.

With the Wolverines likely moving to No. 1 and Washington to No. 2, there are a few Playoff spots that remain vacant, especially if the committee decides that No. 4 Florida State’s win over Lousiville was not impressive enough to give them a bid in the final four-team CFP field.

Who could drop out?

Florida State: The first team that Alabama football fans should be looking at is Florida State. Now, I know that the Noles are 13-0 with a conference title, but if they make the College Football Playoff, they are bound to get embarrassed. FSU is not even close to being the same team without Jordan Travis, and last night’s ACC title game proved that once again.

Georgia Bulldogs: Georgia is 12-1 now and does not have an SEC Championship. While the Bulldogs have been impressive this fall — there is no doubt about that — many experts saw Saturday’s title game as an elimination game, and I would agree. Georgia should be out.
