Cameron Ward is the top-ranked quarterback in the transfer portal right now and here is a ranking of the six leading contenders.

Things are about to get crazy in the college football transfer portal. The portal is officially open for business and several big-name quarterbacks are already available.

One of them is Cameron Ward. The former Washington State starting quarterback has entered the transfer portal. There was some talk that he would consider the NFL draft, but it seems as though he’ll play another season of college football.

A number of college football powers could use a player like Ward for a year. Over the past two seasons, Cameron Ward has thrown 48 touchdown passes and passed for over 3,200 yards in 2022 and 2023. He also averages 7.1 yards per pass attempt.

Surely, Ward believes he could improve his stock and his production somewhere else, and here is a ranking of the top six contenders as reported by Pete Nakos of On3.com.

6. Wisconsin

The Badgers are going to be in the mix for a lot of transfer portal quarterbacks. They have seen Cameron Ward up close and personal the past two seasons with two straight losses to Ward and the Cougars.

Phil Longo runs a system that saw Drake Maye thrive. The Badgers also seem determined to land an impact transfer since they are also in the mix for Will Howard, the former Kansas State starter.

That seems like a better fit. Ward is a big-time talent and I don’t see him taking his talents to Madison. Sorry Badgers fans.
