One of the surprise entrants into the transfer portal on Monday was Ohio State quarterback Kyle McCord and here are five potential landing spots.
There are always a few surprises when it comes to the transfer portal and on Monday, there was an early surprise as Kyle McCord announced his departure from Ohio State.
It wasn’t shocking. McCord has received a ton of criticism since throwing two interceptions against Michigan in a 30-24 loss, plus Ryan Day refused to commit to McCord as the starter on Sunday.
I have no idea if Day directed Kyle McCord to the transfer portal or not, but the former five-star prospect threw 24 touchdown passes compared to just six interceptions. He was also 11-1 as a starter this season.
Maybe Kyle McCord isn’t good enough for Ohio State, but there are some other really good options, and here are potential landing spots.
The Hurricanes are desperate for a quarterback and Kyle McCord is easily going to be one of the 5-10 best available in the transfer portal.
Many teams would be devastated if their 11-1 starter entered the transfer portal, but Ohio State has different expectations. Miami is just trying to win consistently again under Mario Cristobal.
Will Howard is another quarterback on the radar for Miami, but McCord is a much better option in my opinion, plus it would give the former Buckeye a chance to cash in.
It would also allow McCord to get away from the Big Ten conference, which might be exactly the change of scenery that he needs.
