Nebraska football needs to land a quarterback in the transfer portal and we rank the top five options for the Huskers.

One of the most frustrating things for Nebraska football fans this season has to be the fact that if the Huskers had an above-average quarterback, they would be bowling.

Heck, Nebraska could have won the Big Ten West if it had a quarterback that could hang onto the football. Matt Rhule is trying to rectify that though.

Nebraska football offensive coordinator Marcus Satterfield has flown all over the country to visit transfer portal quarterbacks. The Huskers have been called “the most aggressive team” in college footabll when it comes to transfer quarterbacks.

Who will the Huskers land? That’s the final question and we rank the top five candidates to be Nebraska football’s transfer portal addition at quarterback.

5. Will Howard, Kansas State

Will Howard might be the best fit for Nebraska with his dual-threat ability. Twice in his career, Howard has rushed for 350 yards or more.

Yet, he did throw 10 interceptions last season. He also threw 24 touchdowns, but it’s just something to be aware of.

The biggest problem for Nebraska football is the competition is stiff for Howard. Lincoln Riley has already flown to see him and NIL is certainly going to be a factor.

Does Howard want to stay in the Midwest? Does he want to play for a proven winner because it’s hard to call Nebraska that yet, although it feels it its a quarterback away from being a top-25 team.

I wouldn’t rule out landing Howard, but I think he ends up somewhere else.
