1. Grayson McCall, Coastal Carolina

Grayson McCall was almost an Auburn Tiger a year ago, but an issue with the transferring of college credits ended up reportedly halting the move. Then in 2023, after the departure of head coach Jamey Chadwell, he was less productive in the new offensive scheme, taking some of the shine off of a potential move.

While it now seems that McCall is being valued more at the level of a UCF, there’s still a strong case to be made that he’d excel at Auburn.

Recall the numbers of his previous three seasons, in which he played in an offense much like Auburn’s. From 2020-22, McCall threw for 8,061 yards, 77 touchdowns, and just 8 interceptions. He added 1,054 yards and 17 scores on the ground.

There is no one else on the market who does both things so well. He is an accurate, productive passer, and he can make the defense respect the quarterback run.

Wherever McCall ends up, be it Auburn or UCF, he’s going to thrive.
