The best player to enter the transfer portal: ACC Edition
By John Strong
Georgia Tech:
What a great season for head coach Brent Key and the Yellow Jackets! Georgia Tech is on the right foot. They have made a bowl game for the first time since 2018. They will play UCF in the Gasparilla Bowl. They have not had many portal losses so far; they have only had five transfer portal entries at the time of writing this article.
The biggest transfer portal entry is by far defensive lineman Kyle Kennard. Kennard had 54 tackles, 11 tackles for loss, six sacks, and an interception this season. During his time with the Yellow Jackets, Kennard had 115 tackles, 21.5 tackles for loss, and 12.5 sacks. Kennard was visiting Florida State at the time this article was written; I would imagine he will end up as a Seminole.
Louisville:
Louisville had a great season under Jeff Brohm’s first year as head coach. The Cardinals finished the season with a 10-3 record. You would have to imagine that we will have another ten-win season in 2024. The Cardinals have had eight transfer portal entries so far. Oddly enough, seven of them were on the defensive side of the ball.
The best transfer portal entry was defensive back Josh Minkins. Minkins had 99 tackles, three pass deflections, two tackles for loss, two interceptions, and a sack during his time with the Cardinals. Minkins currently has offers from West Virginia and Tulsa.
