There are still some big-time quarterbacks available in the transfer portal and here’s the latest on some of the top targets available.

The activity is picking up when it comes to quarterbacks in the college football transfer portal. Guys are starting to take visits and you can see how things are trending.

Sam Leavitt committed to Arizona State on Monday. That was the latest commitment from a quarterback in the transfer portal. Some others include Dillon Gabriel to Oregon and former Baylor starter Blake Shapen going to Mississippi State.

However, only three of the top-10 quarterbacks in the college football transfer portal according to 247 Sports, have committed. There are some trends though and we look at where things stand with some of the top uncommitted quarterbacks in the transfer portal.

Aidan Chiles

Michigan State is in a strong spot for the No. 1 overall quarterback in the transfer portal. The 6-foot-3, 200-pound freshman played one season at Oregon State but is poised to follow his former head coach, Jonathan Smith, at Oregon State to MSU.

Aidan Chiles visited the Spartans this past weekend. He also has received a total of seven transfer crystal ball predictions to Michigan State, so at this point, it seems like only a matter of time.

Dante Moore

The former UCLA quarterback has been connected to Oregon, Michigan, Miami, and Florida State so far. Oregon took the commitment of Dillon Gabriel, but it sounds like Dante Moore is still expected to take a visit according to Tom VanHaaren.

Gabriel could start next season, while Moore could redshirt, and take over in the 2025 season. He’s already said he’s willing to sit a year if needed.

Michigan also seems like a good fit. If J.J. McCarthy returned, Moore would have a similar situation to Oregon. But if McCarthy goes pro, Moore could become the starter.

That’s the case for Miami and Florida State too. Moore is one of the most talented players in the transfer portal and someone could be getting a game-changing quarterback in the former five-star recruit.
