J.J. McCarthy has a near-perfect night

Michigan quarterback J.J. McCarthy accounted for over 250 yards and tossed three touchdown passes against Alabama -- good enough to win Rose Bowl MVP -- he can play better. McCarthy missed some throws and outside of the final drive, I'd call his performance average. At least by his standards.

I don't care about the narratives, when McCarthy is on, he throws the ball as well as anyone in college football. He's extremely accurate. He's run a 4.5 in the 40 and he's lost one game in his college career as a starting quarterback.

Still, some people act like he's holding Michigan football back, instead of being one of the main reasons the Wolverines are 14-0. Washington allows 269 yards passing per game. Their defense struggles and McCarthy is as good as Bo Nix. He's definitely a more accurate passer than Quinn Ewers and after Michigan kept him clean against Alabama, the O-line will do the same against Washington.

McCarthy probably won't throw for 300 yards because Michigan will grind the clock once it gets the lead, but he's going to throw a couple of touchdowns (accounting for around 250 yards) and I see him completing a high percentage of passes in what ends up as a Michigan football win.
