1. Who Will be the Starting Quarterback for CCU?

Currently, the talk in College Football is the transfer portal. This year’s transfer portal has been highlighted by quarterbacks, Dillon Gabriel, Cameron Ward, Will Howard, and a quarterback who could be one of the best players in this game, Grayson McCall. McCall announced on December 14th per On3 and Pete Nakos that he has transferred to NC State. Coastal Carolina also has another QB who is in the transfer portal, Jarrett Guest, who has been the backup for McCall for his five years at CCU. There has been speculation that McCall or Guest could start this game even though they have put their names in the portal.

With these two quarterbacks in the portal and having been injured throughout the season, CCU has had to rely on redshirt freshman and transfer from Kansas, Ethan Vasko. Vasko has become the reliable QB for CCU. From being the third-string quarterback, Vasko is second in rushing yards for the team and second in completion percentage behind McCall. Who do you think Coach Tim Beck will choose as QB1 on Saturday Night? Will there be players/coaches in dismay after this decision? Will NC State allow McCall to play knowing his injury history?

With the happiest time of the year coming near, sports fans are going to be surrounded by their loved ones and NBA games. Fans shouldn’t forget about the bowl schedule and be on the lookout with one of the best games on the schedule. You know kids are going to stay up to see presents under the tree, why not have them stay up to watch the Hawaii Bowl?
