Auburn Tigers

The Tigers have been looking for a dynamic quarterback and I'm certain they'll be scouring the transfer portal for talent, just like last offseason.

Malachi Nelson would be perfect. There isn't a presumed starter at Auburn, plus Hugh Freeze has been known to get the best out of quarterbacks. Nelson would get the chance to play and there wouldn't be any doubt about who the starter is next fall.

Auburn football knows the importance of a quality quarterback and Nelson could maybe the best since the days of Cam Newton. The Tigers did offer Nelson coming out of high school and if playing time is a priority, Auburn makes a lot of sense.

Ohio State Buckeyes

Ohio State hasn't been very active in the quarterback transfer portal market yet, but that could change. Nelson was a recruiting target of the Buckeyes and there isn't a clear-cut starter next fall yet in Columbus.

Devin Brown is the presumed starter right now. He's going to start the Cotton Bowl and a solid performance could helped lock down the starting job going forward. Yet, Malachi Nelson is a supreme talent and you'd think the Buckeyes would have to consider him.

However, in this transfer portal era, you'd likely lose one of the quarterbacks at some point. Especially, if Nelson was the starter -- Brown wouldn't stick around. The problem is that if USC isn't ready to roll with Malachi Nelson as the starter, why would Ohio State?
