Is Dillon Johnson playing today vs. Michigan? Latest injury updates
If you know anything about Washington football, it's that offense drives the ship for the Huskies. More notably, the aerial attack is where the Huskies' bread is buttered. However, Dillon Johnson made a name for himself this season as Washington's starting running back, surpassing the 1,000-yard rushing mark.
Unfortunately, at the end of the Sugar Bowl win over Texas, Johnson suffered what looked to be a knee/ankle injury where he had to be helped off the field and it looked serious.
Everyone jumped into immediate speculation mode, talking about how he'd likely miss the national title game against Michigan because of how bad the injury looked.
Well, that doesn't quite seem to be the case.
According to reports, Johnson is expected to play in the national title game on Monday night against Michigan despite re-aggravating a lower body injury versus Texas.
Johnson has been saying all week long that he plans on playing in the national title game and he even made a promise to his mother that he would. This is a big promise for a guy who had to be helped off the field and couldn't put too much weight on his leg after the injury. But it's amazing how quickly he has progressed and Husky fans have to be thrilled.
All signs are pointing to him taking the field. He may not get the same workload as he usually does, but some Dillon Johnson is better than no Dillon Johnson, especially against this Michigan defense.
Johnson will be a load to handle for the Wolverines as he currently has 1,162 yards and 16 touchdowns this season. He'll be a key piece to the Monday night title game puzzle.
