3. JC Latham | OT | Alabama

According to ESPN, JC Latham checks in as the third highest ranked player (#20 overall; #5 amongst OT’s) to take the field in Pasadena on Saturday.  Standing at 6’6” / 360 lbs, Latham is a mountain of a man.  In addition to his imposing figure, the Oak Creek, Wisconsin native possesses exceptional technique and athletic ability.  As such, Latham not only protects Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe’s blindside, but also proves to be a road grader for Jase McClellan and the rest of the Tide running backs to roll through.

With that being said, let’s see how he and the rest of the Alabama offensive line handle Michigan’s stout defensive front, led by honorable mention Kris Jenkins.  Latham and company were impressive last time out en route to beating the then #1 team in the country, Georgia, in the SEC Championship Game.

However, back in September against Texas in Tuscaloosa, Latham, along with the rest of the o-line, struggled mightily to provide proper protection and push off the line of scrimmage.  As a result, in-part, Nick Saban witnessed a rare low tide at Bryant Denny-Stadium with ‘Bama coming up short 34-24 to the ‘Horns.
