There aren't a ton of big-name recruits still on the board in the 2024 college football recruiting class but one of them is four-star wide receiver Gatlin Bair.

Bair is a 6-foot-1, 194-pound wide receiver out of the state of Idaho. He's the No. 1 ranked player in that state but according to the 247 Sports composite rankings, Bair is ranked 44th overall and is the No. 12 wideout. However, he's ranked 27th in the 247 Sports own rankings. Those rankings also have him as a five-star prospect.

The 2024 wideout was committed to Boise State at one point, but re-opened things after a coaching change. Michigan was the other main rival for Oregon football, but the departure of Jim Harbaugh, and also Ben Herbert, seems to have tilted things in Oregon's favor according to a pair of crystal ball projections from 247 Sports, including one from Steve Wiltfong.

Bair is an elite athlete and runs the 100-meter dash in 10.2. He's basically got Tyreek Hill speed. However, even though he's listed as a 2024 recruit, Bair probably won't play college football for Oregon or anyone else until 2026.

Bair will be taking a mormon mission after his senior year of high school. That will take two years so he probably won't be enrolling until the 2026 season. That means a lot can change between signing day and him actually enrolling.

Still, Oregon football has to feel good about where things are trending. Not many recruits are worth the two-year wait but Bair is one of them. He'll be a star and the Ducks could be getting a huge addition from him on National Signing Day.
