One of Mike Norvell’s first moves after taking over the FSU program was to bring in quarterback Jordan Travis from Louisville. Well, after Travis’s legendary career for the Seminoles came to an unfortunate end, he had to go back to the portal for D.J. Uiagalelei, who just two years ago was starting at Clemson.

FSU’s offense was gutted with Keon Coleman, Johnny Wilson, Trey Benson, and Jaheim Bell all declaring for the NFL Draft. It didn’t help that running back Rodney Hill transferred away, but Norvell brought in wide receiver Malik Benson and running back Roydell Williams from Alabama along with running back wide receiver/hybrid Jaylin Lucas from Indiana and wide receiver Jalen Brown from LSU to replace all of that lost production.

Norvell reloaded on offense and kept the defense stockpiled with talent. It was an impressive offseason in the portal, but not a surprise. This is what Norvell does, and he’ll do it again next year after this crop is harvested by the NFL.
