. 14. . 444. Pitt. Outgoing: 10. . . Incoming: 9.

Coaches like Pat Narduzzi, who build their programs on developing overlooked three-star players into stars as seniors, might not be cut out for the modern college football landscape. Pitt just won the ACC in 2021, but the Panthers just went 3-9 and didn’t do anything to build confidence in the program this offseason.

Narduzzi added quarterback Eli Holstein from Alabama, as Pitt still tries to replace Kenny Pickett three years later. The nine-player portal class also features former San Diego State wide receiver Raphael Williams Jr. and Western Carolina running back Desmond Reid, but those players don’t offset the losses.

The Panthers watched helplessly as the corp of their defense fled for greener pastures. Samuel Okunlola transferred to Colorado, and Bengally Kamara, DeAndre Jules, and Buddy Mack all left for South Carolina. I’m not sure how Narduzzi is going to turn the program around after hitting rock bottom in Year 9.
