There was one silver lining to UVA’s 3-9 season, the Cavaliers and head coach Tony Elliott found their quarterback. Freshman Anthony Colandrea impressed down the stretch, so the Cavaliers can go into 2024 with confidence on offense.

Clearly, the objective of this offseason was to get Colandrea some support. Virginia added three wide receivers including dynamic slot receiver Chris Tyree from Notre Dame. Tyree, the Chester Virginia native, caught 26 passes for 486 yards and three touchdowns last year.

Elliot also brought in tight ends Sage Ennis from Clemson and Tyler Neville from Harvard, along with Drake Metcalf, an interior offensive lineman from UCF. Virginia still has a long way to go, but this offseason was a step in the right direction.
