The biggest losses for Auburn in the transfer portal were largely replaced by Hugh Freeze, who is heading into his second season at the helm. The Tigers saw four wide receivers depart this offseason but brought in Georgia State standout Robert Lewis along with the No. 8 high school recruiting class which was headlined by two five-star wide receivers.

With the losses largely offset, Freeze was able to address needs with his transfer portal class. He filled the right tackle spot with Mississippi State transfer Percy Lewis and added to the defensive secondary with Alabama transfer Antonio Kite and Texas starting safety Jerrin Thompson.

Freeze also beefed up his defensive line with Trill Carter from Texas and Gage Keys from Kansas, but the run defense could suffer with the losses of physical slot cornerback Donovan Kaufman and thumping linebacker Cam Riley.

It was an up-and-down cycle for the Tigers, but in the end, I think Freeze came out on top.
