  • Orange Bowl: No. 1 Alabama 45 No. 4 Oklahoma 34

Alabama and Clemson had combined to win the last three national championships before the 2019 CFP and came in as the No. 1 and No. 2 teams again. Kyler Murray put a scare into Bama, but Tua Tagovailoa threw for four touchdowns to win the Orange Bowl.

Clemson cruised past Notre Dame in the Cotton Bowl to set up the fourth meeting between the Crimson Tide and Tigers since the inception of the CFP. Clemson took this round.

Trevor Lawrence threw for 347 yards and three touchdowns to win the national title as a true freshman. Trevor vs. Tua was a fantastic storyline, but the Clemson-Alabama matchup was getting a bit old by 2019 and with a blowout win by the Tigers, this CFP ranks near the very bottom.
