- Peach Bowl: No. 1 LSU 63 No. 4 Oklahoma 28
- Fiesta Bowl: No. 3 Clemson 29 No. 2 Ohio State 23
LSU was a dominant force through the 2019 season and the 2020 College Football Playoff. Oklahoma and Kyler Murray didn’t stand much of a chance in the Peach Bowl, but Clemson and Ohio State played a close game in the Fiesta Bowl.
Trevor Lawrence, the No. 1 recruit in the 2018 class, outdueled Justin Fields, the No. 2 recruit from the same class. Fields had two interceptions while Lawrence ran for 107 yards and a touchdown and threw for 259 yards and two scores, including the game-winner to Travis Etienne with 1:49 left in the fourth quarter.
Even Lawrence and Clemson were no match for Joe Burrow, Justin Jefferson, Ja’Marr Chase, and LSU. Clemson got out to a 17-7 lead with 10:38 left in the second quarter, but LSU responded with three straight touchdown drives to go into the half up 28-17.
Clemson responded out of the break to keep the game close at 28-25, but Burrow threw his fourth and fifth touchdown passes to close out the win.
