Orange Bowl. 527. 2022. . . Cotton Bowl. 2022. 2022. 5. player

  • National Championship: Georgia 33 Alabama 18
  • Cotton Bowl: No. 1 Alabama 27 No. 4 Cincinnati 6
  • Orange Bowl: No. 3 Georgia 34 Michigan 11

Getting the first non-Power Five team into the playoff was a fun wrinkle for 2022, but New Year’s Eve was quite the letdown. Cincinnati never had a shot against Alabama, and Georgia steamrolled Michigan on its way to the national championship and a much-anticipated matchup with Alabama.

In the Orange Bowl, Michigan didn’t score a touchdown in the first 55 minutes of the game, so the final score wasn’t indicative of the dominance.

Georgia didn’t dominate Alabama the same way but did seal a victory with a Kelee Ringo pick-six of Bryce Young to give the Bulldogs their first national title since 1980.
