2017 is the flipside of the coin from 2023. The semifinals were tough to watch with two lopsided victories, but that collision course led us straight to the second-best national championship game of the CFP era. 

The rivalry that defined the start of the CFP was cemented in this national championship game as Clemson got revenge on Alabama 364 days after the Crimson Tide beat the Tigers for the 2016 national title.
