2. Will Lee III, CB (Kansas State)

With little depth at cornerback, Mike Elko felt the need to dip into the portal and he landed a top option in Kansas State's Will Lee III.

Slotted to start next season with Josh DeBerry graduating is sophomore Jayvon Thomas who got one start for the Aggies last season. That can't make Elko feel good about the secondary heading into the 2024 campaign, so why not land a guy who has proven himself at cornerback and was one of the very best transfer defensive backs out there?

As a sophomore in 2023, Lee helped lead Kansas State to a 9-4 season, playing in 11 games and putting up 42 total tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss, two picks, six pass breakups, and a forced fumble. He was really solid all season long and should be even better on a bigger stage.

Prior to his time at Kansas State, Lee was a three-star JUCO safety transfer and he immediately rose to stardom in Manhattan, starting for that Big 12-contending defense.

Now, he'll be in the SEC, looking to lead the Aggies back to prominence. And I think he has the talent to do just that as an immediate starter at cornerback.
