It wasn't exactly an ideal start to the CFP Championship Game for Washington against Michigan as the Wolverines raced out to a 17-3 lead early in the first half.

Social media was not impressed with the performance by the Huskies, especially with a failed fourth-down conversion near midfield as Michael Penix Jr. uncharacteristically missed a wide-open Rome Odunze for an easy score. The Wolverines got the ball back near midfield and although they weren't able to get a first down, they had all the momentum.

Washington is 14-0 and hasn't faced a ton of adversity this season, but dropping behind the No. 1 team in the country by two touchdowns early in the first half was not ideal.

Kalen DeBoer and Co. had a lot of work to do but social media gave up on the Huskies midway through the first half. And, well, I'm not innocent here. I pretty much buried the Huskies after their slow start, anointing Michigan as the national title winners.

This win would not make most of the country happy as Michigan has been in the middle of a cheating scandal with sign-stealing, but no one remembers that at this point.

Just take a look at some of the tweets burying Washington and planning their funeral after the slow start in the CFP Championship.

Michigan fans are already celebrating a national title while Washington and college football fans are anointing the Wolverines. This has been a tough start for the Huskies, but maybe we'll see a comeback. Probably not, but we can all hope for a good game.
