3. at Purdue (Sept. 14)

Purdue could be one of the more improved teams in the Big Ten next season in year two of Ryan Walters, but I just don't think the Boilermakers are going to be "upset Notre Dame" good this early in the season. This game might be closer than people expect, but I'd assume we see a big game from Riley Leonard and that new-look offense.

Put the "Spoilermakers" nickname away until at least Big Ten play starts because we won't see Purdue pulling off any crazy upsets in this one.

Prediction: Win (2-1)

4. Miami (OH) (Sept. 21)

This should be another "get right" game after going on the road to beat a pesky Big Ten team. Although Notre Dame has been known to have letdown games against Group of Five opponents early in the season at home, but this isn't going to be that. The Irish will be firing on all cylinders and they'll win this one rather comfortably.

Notre Dame is going to go up 21-0 in the first quarter and then cruise from that point on. Riley Leonard will have himself a Heisman-caliber performance.

Prediction: Win (3-1)
