7. at Georgia Tech (Oct. 19)

Georgia Tech was another one of those surprise teams from the ACC last season, going 6-6 under Brent Key when no one really expected the Yellow Jackets to do much of anything.

Haynes King was a revelation and he'll be back next season to lead the offense so I could see Georgia Tech take another step in the right direction, maybe winning seven or eight games. This one could be one of them with an upset alert feel to it, but I can see Notre Dame winning on a late touchdown run by Riley Leonard to shut the door on the Yellow Jackets.

Prediction: Win (6-1)

8. vs. Navy (Oct. 26) -- MetLife Stadium

Heading to New Jersey to close out the month of October, Notre Dame will have a chance to add a much-needed confidence-booster to the win column before a tough stretch to end the season. The Irish do currently only have 11 games on the schedule so there will be one more added before the start of the season, but a win here will go a long way in terms of playoff positioning.

Prediction: Win (7-1)
