Wisconsin Football: 5 Biggest Offseason Transfer Portal Additions
By Dillon Graff
Syracuse Outside Linebacker Leon Lowery
In arguably the most bizarre recruitment in recent memory, Wisconsin football didn't waste any time locking up Syracuse transfer Leon Lowery to begin overhauling its outside linebacker room.
The 6-foot-4, 240-pound pass-rusher has the size and athleticism this coaching staff covets and believes he'll be an upgrade who can get after the opposing quarterback.
Lowery started all 12 games for the Orange last season and finished with 46 tackles, 16 pressures, 7.5 TFLs, 3.5 sacks, and a pass deflection. The combination of him and John Pius will make for a nice pairing to go along with returning outside linebacker Darryl Peterson.
Lack of pass-rush was a problem for Wisconsin football in 2023. Due to these transfer portal additions, we probably won't feel that way in 2024.
