Game 7 - vs Oklahoma State

Lowest of Lows

Following the devastating loss at the hands of the Houston Cougars, the Mountaineers would have a chance to bounce back at home against Oklahoma State. WVU found themselves down by 10 early on but bounced back in the 2nd quarter to take a 17-13 lead into halftime. Ollie Gordon II ran all over the Mountaineers in the second half and finished the game with 282 yards rushing and 4 touchdowns.

WVU had a costly muffed punt in the early part of the 4th quarter that led to an Ollie Gordon touchdown (his first of 3 in the 4th quarter), that gave the Cowboys a 27-24 lead. The Mountaineers would knot the game at 27 after a Michael Hayes 29-yard field goal with 9:30 to play. West Virginia simply could not get enough stops as the next 3 OSU possessions resulted in touchdowns, icing the game for the road team in this one. West Virginia falls to 4-3 on the season after dropping two consecutive games to Houston and OSU, games in which they had 4th quarter leads.
