Clemson moved up three spots to the nation’s No. 7 overall ranking with Smith’s commitment and now own the No. 3 class in the ACC, trailing Miami and Florida State, who have the nation’s two top classes, in the early rankings for the 2016 classes.
He is the eight member of the 2016 class, the second-highest ranked commit behind No. 21 player in running back Tavien Foster and the first defensive end in the class.
