In a rematch of last year’s bowl game, which Louisville won easily, the Miami Hurricanes now have to go to Louisville the first game of the year in a very intriguing ACC matchup. The Hurricanes continue to improve under head coach Al Golden and are going to be right in the thick of the ACC Coastal Division race this year. A win at Louisville would go a long way toward helping that cause.

The Cardinals, meanwhile, lose their all-everything quarterback and superstar coach, so what did they do? Bring in a new era by going back to the old one with Bobby Petrino, and his arrival already has Cardinal fans thinking big. There is lots of returning talent too outside of Teddy Bridgewater’s departure for fans to be optimistic in Louisville.
Prediction
A thumping of Miami last year and then playing the Hurricanes at home this year with Bobby Petrino at the helm and returning starters all over the field should seem like a good enough reason to pick Louisville to win handily. It won’t happen. The Cardinals will have to adjust to Petrino’s system and life without Bridgewater, while Miami continues to improve. The Hurricanes pull out a close one in the fourth quarter.
