Speaking of close calls with lousy opponents, the Bruins have made their meetings with Virginia and Memphis look like November showdowns with top 10 teams. Their struggles have dropped them six spots in the AP poll, a rare slide for a team that isn’t losing games.
You can’t fault the Bruins for finding a way to win, but the team I expected to be at the top of the Pac shouldn’t be in 35-35 4th quarter ties with Memphis, or needing 3 defensive touchdowns to beat the worst team in the ACC.
UCLA has the horses, but there’s no denying something is wrong in Westwood right now.
