Illinois QB Wes Lunt cleared to play against Purdue
The Illinois Fighting Illini didn’t expect to be without quarterback Wes Lunt but because of a knee injury, he missed last week’s 45-14 loss to the Nebraska Cornhuskers.

Instead, Reilly O’Toole got the start for Wes Lunt, who was apparently injured in their 42-35 victory over the Texas State Bobcats back on September 20.
However, it looks like Wes Lunt will be back under center when Illinois hosts the Purdue Boilermakers this week.
“I think we’re really, really fortunate that it wasn’t a major injury,” Illinois offensive coordinator Bill Cubit told The Associated Press.
Wes Lunt has completed 100-of-152 passes for 1,237 yards with 11 touchdowns and three interceptions while Reilly O’Toole is 21-of-43 for 310 yards with one touchdown and three interception.
Illinois and Purdue will kick-off at noon EST and the game is on ESPN2.
