AP Poll Week 7: A huge shakeup

facebooktwitterreddit

After a weekend full of upsets, there was a huge shakeup in the AP Poll but the Florida State Seminoles remained No. 1.

Unlike the coaches (check out their poll here), the AP Poll voters weren’t afraid to shake things up.

They left Florida State remain No.2 but the Seminoles only got 35 first place votes after a 43-3 victory over the Wake Forest Demon Deacons. The Auburn Tigers, who destroyed the LSU Tigers 41-7, received 23 votes and are the new No. 2.

The Mississippi State Bulldogs destroyed the previously sixth-ranked Texas A&M Aggies 48-31, moved from 12 to 3 while the Aggies are no 14. The Ole Miss Rebels went from 11 to a tie for 3 with the rival Bulldogs after their win over the third-ranked (now seventh-ranked) Alabama Crimson Tide. The Baylor Bears, who defeated the Texas Longhorns 28-7 and the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, who took down the Stanford Cardinal 17-14 in the final seconds, round out the top 6.

The TCU Horned Frogs and Arizona Wildcats, who defeat the previously fourth-ranked Oklahoma Sooners (11) and the Oregon Ducks (12), are No. 9 and No. 10.
