Saturday Blitz Week 6 Blitz Points Winners

3. Trevone Boykin, Quarterback, TCU Horned Frogs (Defeated Oklahoma Sooners 37-33 Saturday)

20 of 38 for 318 Yards and 2 Touchdowns; 22 Carries for 77 Yards

You could definitely make a case for Paul Dawson being the player of the game with his interception returned for a touchdown to secure the TCU victory 37-33, but it was Trevone Boykin’s play throughout the entire game that makes him worthy of being so high up on this list.

Yes, he barely completed more than 50 percent of his passes, and yes he threw an interception. But Boykin accounted for 395 of the 469 yards that TCU racked up. He kept the Horned Frogs going head to head with Oklahoma for all four quarters before relying on the defense to finally come through in the fourth quarter.

But during the three quarters before that, it was Boykin keeping this team in the game through his dual-threat abilities along with Gary Patterson’s entire defense. Yes, he fumbled at the end and nearly cost the Horned Frogs the game in the fourth quarter. But they’re not in the game without him.

So for that, he is a College Football Top Performer and Blitz Points Winner for Week 6.
