Saturday Blitz Week 6 Blitz Points Winners

2. Jaelen Strong, Wide Receiver, Arizona State Sun Devils (Defeated USC Trojans 38-34 Saturday)

10 Receptions, 202 Yards, 3 Touchdowns

Every bit of the credit for the Sun Devils’ comeback victory over USC should go to Jaelen Strong. Strong had Amare Cooper type numbers with 10 receptions for 202 yards ad 3 touchdowns. With a backup quarterback throwing him the ball, and as he went up against a defense that may be struggling but still has talent, especially in the secondary, Strong came up huge.

Obviously, the biggest play from Strong came on the Hail Mary at the very end. To catch that 46-yard pass from Mike Bercovici with no time on the clock took an incredible amount of skill. USC did play terrible defense on it, but this wasn’t a tipped ball that fell into his hands. He went up and took the ball down himself to carry it into the end zone for a huge victory. And that was representative of the game.

It was big play after big play for the Arizona State Sun Devils as they were coming off of a 62-27 loss to UCLA the week before, and many of those big plays were generated by Strong. They don’t win the game against USC on the road without him, so he deserves a ton of credit for how everything happened.

That credit comes in the form of Blitz Points for this week.
