On Sunday, the Bulldogs dismissed freshman defensive back Shaquille Jones.
Jones was charged with shoplifting and held in the Athens-Clarke County jail. He was released on $1,500 bail at 4:53 p.m. on Sunday.
“We have certain expectations and standards that we require of all our players,” head coach Mark Richt said in a statement via Seth Emerson of The Macon Telegraph. “When those expectations and standards are not met, the opportunity to be a part of our program is sacrificed.”
The Bulldogs also dismissed defensive back Sheldon Johnson on Monday. During the offseason, they dismissed Josh Harvey-Clemons. They also lost Rico Johnson to a medical disqualification earliy in the week.
It’s no wonder the Bulldogs have had so many issues in the back end.
