Saturday Blitz Vegas ACC Predictions Week 7

No. 1 Florida State Seminoles at Syracuse Orange

Line: Florida State by 23.5

Those poor Florida State Seminoles have to be getting bored. They’re getting everybody’s best game, and they only have a few best games they can get up for. Here comes another one at the Carrier Dome against Syracuse Saturday. Against a decent defense, Jameis Winston, Rashad Green, and the rest of the offense simply need to do what they’ve been doing, and they’ll be fine. On defense, Florida State will want to go after the quarterback, whomever is starting Saturday. The Orange have to put somebody new in, and FSU could overwhelm them by name power and a bunch of blitzes. They should go for it in order to bury this team.

The Orange are in the middle of a very disappointing season under Scott Shafer, and their quarterback in Terrel Hunt is now out for four to six weeks. But a new quarterback could be just the spark the Orange need. Whomever starts, whether it be Austin Wilson or A.J. Long, needs to be very efficient. Knowing that Florida State will likely bring heat, a few screens and draws with Prince-Tyson Gulley and Jarrod West wouldn’t really hurt anything. Perhaps they could use that to possibly have a few good drives, get the home crowd involved, and pull off the unthinkable miracle.

Prediction

Florida State can play down to Syracuse all it wants; this one is not going to be close. Winston will have a field day against the defense as will Mario Pender at running back in his first career start in place of Karlos Williams, and this game has blowout written all over it. Don’t expect the Seminoles to come close to losing this game.
