Saturday Blitz Vegas Big 12 Predictions Week 7
Toledo Rockets at Iowa State Cyclones
Line: Iowa State by 3
Iowa State desperately needs a win. They are all but gone from the bowl picture, and now it looks more and more baffling how they beat Iowa earlier this year. To be fair, outside of North Dakota State, this team has played a rough schedule, having already played Kansas State, Baylor, and Oklahoma State. Now they get a bit of a breather with Toledo coming to town. The Cyclones need to focus on scoring a lot to win the game. The Rockets have a pass defense like the rest of the MAC, so they should heavily use Sam B. Richardson to throw all over the defense. And they should never let up.

Cincy on the Prowl
Toledo, meanwhile, needs to stick with what has already brought it success: the running game. The Cyclones clearly have a weak defense, and with Kareem Hunt, they need to turn to Terry Swanson to gash the Iowa State rush defense. The Rockets obviously have a weak defense, so if they can keep drives moving on the ground, it’s their best chance at winning. Iowa State could have trouble then, which works perfectly into the favor of the Rockets.
Prediction
Toledo will have the right game plan and attempt to establish a strong running game, but it won’t matter. Iowa State will torch the Rockets through the air, and with Hunt injured, the Rockets will have trouble gashing Iowa State as much as they would like. The Cylones get an easy win Saturday.
