After helping the Florida Gators rally from a 9-0 deficit in a 10-9 victory over the Tennessee Volunteers, many thought the Florida Gators would bench Jeff Driskel, who threw three interceptions before being benched in favor of Harris and announce Harris as the full-time starter.

Instead, it was revealed that Harris had been accused of sexual battery and he was suspended indefinitely by the school despite no charges being brought against him.

On Friday, Harris’ accuser dropped her complaint.

The university has issued a statement regarding Harris.

"The student who accused Treon Harris of sexual battery has withdrawn her criminal complaint. This means she is not pursuing criminal charges against him at this time but maintains the right to do so in the future. The police report will be released when it is available. The UAA will have more information on his football status later in the day.The university always will take swift and decisive action when we have concerns about the safety of our students."

It is expected that Harris will have his suspension lifted before the Gators host the LSU Tigers Saturday night.
