Florida Gators’ quarterback Jeff Driskel was benched after throwing three interceptions against the Tennessee Volunteers. True freshman Treon Harris came into the game and although he didn’t do much, he helped rally the team back from a 9-0 deficit to win 10-9.

Many expected him to be named the starter but he was suspended after he was accused of sexual battery. His accuser has since withdrawn her complaint and although Treon Harris didn’t play in the Gators 30-27 loss to the LSU Tigers Saturday night, he has been reinstated.

According to Gators’ head coach Will Muschamp, both Treon Harris and Jeff Driskel will play when the Gators host the Missouri Tigers Saturday night.

“They both will play this week,” Muschamp said during his weekly news conference Monday via The Orlando Sentinel. “… Right now, Jeff will probably start, but they’re both going to play.”

It sounds like the veteran is embracing the competition.

“Treon and I are both going to work hard this week,” Driskel said. “We’re going to work for each other. If it will help the team, I’m all for out.”

The Gators and Tigers will kick-off from Ben Hill Griffin Stadium in Gainesville, Florida at 7:00 PM EST Saturday and will air on ESPN2.
