Georgia Rises, Mississippi Schools top Week 7 SEC Power Rankings
Saturday Blitz SEC Power Rankings Week 7
Well Saturday was a typical Les Miles game. LSU seems to love being ranked higher than other teams due to sheer luck, a staple of this program over the past 15 years. But hey, credit where credit is due. When Florida tried to give the game away to LSU, they made sure they took it, unlike Tennessee the week before. That’s enough to celebrate this team, even if they are much worse than we thought they would be going into this season.
This team still has no quarterback to speak of, but the best news of the weekend is Leonard Fournette appears to be on the verge of finding his groove. The “Michael Jordan” running back has left us waiting for him to explode, but at least he came through on Saturday with 27 carries for 140 yards and 2 touchdowns. Florida is a good defense, and that was a win where he was a difference maker. If it’s a sign of things to come, then LSU could be encouraged, even with its brutal SEC schedule.
That schedule still includes Kentucky, Ole Miss, Alabama, Arkansas, and Texas A&M. This team could easily fall to 5-7 and not win again. But maybe they turn a corner and start winning. They’re not out of the SEC race just yet.
But for right now they’re in the bottom half of our SEC Power Rankings.
