Saturday Blitz Big 12 Power Rankings Week 7

The Kansas State Wildcats are this high on the list because, despite not playing this past Saturday, they have still looked great all season. Without a major signature win yet, they don’t have a bad loss in Auburn. And they have recently been blowing people out. That started with a 58-28 win over UTEP, and the next week they destroyed Texas Tech 45-13. That’s enough for us to put them at No. 3.

Jake Waters to Tyler Lockett is turning into a dream combination, and now Curry Sexton is not far behind. The Wildcats can still run the ball a lot with Waters, but the receiving corps. and Waters’s passing abilities have opened up the door for what he can do and what Bill Snyder can do. That makes this possibly the most complete offense Snyder has ever had, and that’s saying a lot given the history of his career. But we can’t deny an offense putting up 41 points a game.

Now, we get to see how it plays out the rest of the season, and Kansas State might have a chance to play for more than just a Top 25 finish. Oklahoma, TCU, Oklahoma State, and Baylor are still up. We’ll find out now how they can measure up against those teams. Could we possibly be thinking about a Big 12 title?

Yes. Otherwise, they wouldn’t be this high.
