On Tuesday,
a report surfaced that TCU Horned Frogs’ quarterback Trevone Boykin suffered a wrist injury and would be out for 4-6 weeks
.
This would obviously be devastating news for a much improved TCU squad that has been has been lighting up scoreboards.
When TCU head coach Gary Patterson met with the media at Tuesday’s practice, he told reporters there was absolutely no truth to the report.
The Horned Frogs are currently 4-1 and Trevone Boykin is probably the biggest reason. He’s completed 120-of-208 passes for 1,463 yards with 11 touchdowns and three interceptions. He’s also rushed for 305 yards and three touchdowns on 69 carries.
The Horned Frogs’ lone loss came last week when they blew a 21-point fourth quarter lead to the Baylor Bears, losing 61-58 on a field goal in the final seconds.
The 12th-ranked Horned Frogs will get back to work Saturday afternoon when they host the 15th-ranked Oklahoma State Cowboys (4:00 PM EST, Fox Sports 1).
