Saturday Blitz Vegas SEC Predictions Week 8

Missouri Tigers at Florida Gators

Line: Florida by 5.5

This game is a must-win for both teams. And it’s a must-win for one coach’s career. Will Muschamp desperately needs to keep winning right now to keep his job. After last week’s 30-27 loss to LSU, Florida at least showed it can move the ball a bit. But here’s the key to beating Missouri: turnovers. Florida can’t keep giving teams wins because not everybody is going to give it back the way Tennessee did. If they don’t change that quickly, this is going to be a long season. Muschamp should go with Treon Harris at quarterback Saturday. But who honestly thinks thatt’ll happen?

Missouri, meanwhile, needs to play a game similar to Florida’s: don’t turn the ball over. Jeff Driskel is bad, but Maty Mauk may be worse. The pathetic play of the Tigers last week can’t be ignored. Gary Pinkel needs to simply stick to the run game and make sure his team wins the turnover battle. With two of the most pathetic offenses in the country going at it, that’s going to be the determining factor as to who wins this game.

Prediction

Florida is at home and won’t make as many mistakes as Missouri. This is going to be a hideous game, one that’s more a result of terrible offenses than good defenses, but the Gators will do just enough to win. And Will Muschamp will once again act like he won the national title.
