Saturday Blitz Big 12 Power Rankings Week 8

In what is absolutely no surprise, the Jayhawks remain the worst team in the Big 12. A loss to Texas Tech didn’t make anything better on Saturday, but at least they didn’t get blown off the field. Clint Bowen may have this team in a little bit better shape than Charlie Weis did, but this season is still a lost cause. And they have looked awful for the entire Big 12 season up to this point.

The Kansas defense is still pathetic, but they may have found some balance on offense. At least last Saturday, the Jayhawks had 363 total yards and 235 passing yards. Not great, but still an upgrade. Okay, who are we kidding? That was against Texas Tech, probably the worst defense in the Big 12. So let’s get back to reality. We’re not going to give this team any credit for what it did against the Red Raiders, particularly on offense. That won’t continue the rest of the way.

And the rest of the way includes Baylor, TCU, Oklahoma, and Kansas State. So the only game we can reasonably say is winnable is Iowa State, and even that is a question mark. This team simply has no hope of accomplishing anything.

And that is why they are at the bottom of our Big 12 Power Rankings.
